Course Breakdown

This PADI Open Water course is split into four sessions over two weekends. We kick things off with pool training on Saturday, August 9th and Sunday, August 10th, both from 8 AM to 2 PM. Here, you'll get comfortable with your gear and practice crucial underwater skills in a controlled environment. The following weekend, we head to open water for your certification dives. On Saturday, August 16th, from 8 AM to 2 PM, you'll complete your first two open water dives. We wrap up on Sunday, August 17th, from 11 AM to 4 PM, with your final two dives. By the end of this course, you'll be a confident, certified open water diver ready to explore dive sites around the world.

From Pool to Open Water

Your journey starts in the pool, where you'll get hands-on with scuba gear. We'll cover everything from setting up your BCD (Buoyancy Compensator Device) to clearing your mask underwater. You'll practice essential skills like buoyancy control, underwater navigation, and emergency procedures. Once you've nailed these basics, we'll hit the open water. Here's where the real fun begins! You'll apply everything you've learned in the pool to real diving conditions. We'll likely be diving in the crystal-clear waters off Destin's coast, known for its diverse marine life and excellent visibility. Gear Up for Success

For this course, you'll be using top-notch scuba gear. We provide everything you need: mask, fins, wetsuit, BCD, regulator, and tank. Our gear is regularly serviced and updated to ensure your safety and comfort. During your pool sessions, you'll learn how each piece of equipment works and how to maintain it. By the time you hit open water, you'll be a pro at gearing up. Don't worry if you're not sure about buying your own gear yet - that's what this course is for. You'll get a feel for what works best for you, and our instructors can give you solid advice on what to look for when you're ready to invest in your own setup.

Diving into Certification

These hefty fish can weigh up to 800 pounds and are known for their curiosity towards divers. And let's not forget about the vibrant schools of tropical fish that call our reefs home. From angelfish to parrotfish, their colors will blow you away. Remember, as newly certified divers, we practice responsible diving. That means looking, not touching, and always being aware of our impact on the underwater environment.

Beyond the Bubbles

Completing your PADI Open Water certification is just the beginning of your diving journey. Once certified, you'll be able to dive to depths of 60 feet, opening up a whole new world of dive sites.
